John Fenton is a jazz journalist, blogger, essayist, poet, trade unionist, traveler, tree lover, gardener, tea head & Zen Buddhist. He writes as a reader and not as scholar. He is a fallible human whose opinions have been formed by reading broad-mindedly and undertaking years of purposefully aimless travel. He was educated by his books and not by any tertiary institution. He writes for pleasure and to share stories about books. He lives in the rohe of Te Kawerau ā Maki with his partner, his books and two tuxedo cats.
